Tickreel is pioneering a new category called the Web Filter—as both a web service and destination site. Our vision is to add a new order to the web as a function of our interests, which in turn let’s you better understand what’s happening on the web so you can tune and filter it.
The problem Tickreel addresses is that the web has recently evolved into unwieldy, fast-moving streams that are noisy and difficult to consume. So much is coming at us so fast we often miss out or can’t keep up.
Tickreel offers 2 products:
- Tickreel Influential: Provides a way to find influential people or websites for any topic. It also provides a way to quickly view the interest graph of any user based on their activity on the public web (comments, tweets, blogs, etc.). And we take into account your voice by enabling you to vouch for people or sites you view influential within a topic. This is important given what we do in #2.
- Tickreel Web Filter: Provides the first true web filter that let’s you tune the web to match your interests. By logging in with Twitter or Facebook, we automatically identify your interest graph based on your activity on the web. If you follow those topics, we will then highlight compelling signals to identify what is important within each topic. Part of these signals includes identifying what influencers of a topic are saying specifically about that topic. This is why your vouches are so important. You help determine whose messages are the ones worth identifying. This is a whole new and better way to experience the web that you have to check out.
